The line up included: Lilygreeen & Maguire, Cover Drive, A.M.E., Diane Vickers, Pixie Lott and Olly Murs.
I took the following photographs and video clips from my iPhone, just to give an idea of the atmosphere and number of people present. The promoters were Orchard Entertainment and they also took the financial risk on the event. It's pleasing to report that the risk paid off and they were reported to be very happy with the success of the event.
The concert was the end event of 2 days of activities at Parc Eirias in Colwyn Bay not coincide with the Olympics but more importantly to promote the recently upgraded Arena as a possible Entertainment Venue.
This was the first chance to test the new arena for such an event. The current maximum capacity has been set at 15,000, this was set through discussion with the relevant Health & Safety/Fire organisations and the limit was set predominately on the capacity of the exits. It was evident last night that the arena itself could accommodate 20,000 and I'm sure we will be looking to see what can be done to achieve this.
With thanks to the Promoter and the Sponsors the event looks like it was a great success and there is talk of something similar next year.

Can be be true that the council and or Cartrfei Conwy put on a coach and hospitality for tenants, whilst the rest had to pay?
Nothing to do with CCBC. This event replaced Catrefi's Annual Family Day for tennants and combined with this event to give residents more activities to get involved in. Events like this were part of the promises and agreement with residents when the organisation was formed. I.e. not just a landlord but also something to promote the community and social elements
The whole event on Friday was free to everyone.
